Any fully legally competent, natural person or any legal person willing to promote the association can become a member of FIGU-Landesgruppe Australia (FLAU), provided that the individual is aged from 18 years and over (or from 16 years with written permission from a parent or guardian). Passive membership of FIGU Switzerland is also required.

As a member of FIGU-Landesgruppe Australia you actively support the association according to the statutes. You have to take part in association activities and helping shape the not-for-profit and other business activities through the yearly General Assembly (in person), and through regular monthly meetings via the internet.
Membership of FIGU-Landesgruppe Australia is associated with the following commitments:
- One-time registration and ID card fee of AUD 30
- Annual membership fee - currently AUD 40
- The Landesgruppe yearly General Assembly (in person) which takes place once a year, and regular monthly meetings via the internet.
All of the above commitments are in addition to those as a FIGU passive member.
